Test yourself on report writing
The model report in the previous lesson had a typical structure of this type of writing. It was designed so that the reader could predict what the content they were about to read was, as there was a defining title, a summary at the beginning and clear headings all through the report. It also contained bullet points, which are clear lists containing important points.
Especially with the bullet-pointed list, you will find linking words and expressions that help with the cohesion of the text and its ideas. Finally, the text contains vocabulary frequent to professional situations and work in general.
The quiz below tests your knowledge of the structure of the text as well as the items of linkers and vocabulary contained in the report.
